Blood Tempering is most useful in a **Fortitude/Quietus weapon-combat or toolbox deck**, especially one whose vampires already have both disciplines and use melee weapons or reusable damage-preventing equipment: it improves equipment you already want to play, and the superior unlock lets the vampire take another action afterward. Its main drawback is setup—you must obtain the equipment and then spend another action improving it—so it is usually too slow for aggressive decks, and adding a discipline solely to play it is rarely worthwhile. **There are generally better options for the same combat goals:** Torn Signpost is a more immediate damage boost if your vampires have Potence, Target Vitals can increase a damaging strike without a setup action, and Rolling with the Punches provides substantial immediate prevention for Fortitude decks, although none is an exact replacement for a permanent equipment upgrade.
