About Bait and Switch
Bait and Switch, Reaction, designed by Javier Santos first released in December 2021 in the set Fifth Edition (Anarch) and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Bait and Switch best fits a Baron-based political or intercept-and-politics deck, especially one with several Barons that can afford to lock after successfully redirecting an unblocked bleed into another Methuselah, creating table deals or forcing the new target to defend itself; it is also useful in decks that lack the disciplines for conventional bleed redirection. However, Deflection is generally better when available because it can redirect a bleed without requiring a Baron and usually without locking the reacting vampire, while Telepathic Misdirection is often preferable in Auspex decks because it offers flexible redirection and better repeatability; Bait and Switch’s advantages are its zero blood cost and ability to choose nearly any opposing Methuselah, but it is restricted to Barons and cannot be used until blocks are declined. It should see play only in a dedicated Baron deck where those advantages matter, ideally as a small tactical package rather than an automatic inclusion;
