About Vessel
Vessel, Master, designed by Brian LeBlanc first released in September 2007 in the set Lords of the Night and was printed exactly in 7 different ways.
Vessel fits slow, master-heavy decks with vampires that regularly have spare blood, especially toolbox or wall decks that want a steady trickle of pool without spending a full master phase each turn. Its trifle status is valuable, and removing an opponent’s Blood Doll can be a useful bonus, but its upfront cost and one-blood-per-unlock pace make it poor emergency pool gain. **Villein** is usually better when you need to recover several pool immediately; **Blood Doll** offers similar repeatable transfers without Vessel’s upfront cost, though it lacks the trifle advantage. Vessel should see play when your deck can make repeated use of it and values that master-phase flexibility—not as the default choice for fast pool recovery.
