About Obedience
Obedience, Reaction, designed by Ron Spencer, L. A. Williams, Oliver Meinerdin first released in August 1994 in the set Jyhad and was printed exactly in 9 different ways.
Obedience is excellent in a **Dominate deck built around older vampires**, especially an intercept or political deck that wants to block actions without risking combat. At superior DOM, it ends the action for free, leaves the acting vampire locked, and—if you were blocking—does not lock your vampire. At inferior dom, it still stops the action, but unlocking the actor makes it less punishing. **Majesty** is a useful alternative when you need protection against equal-or-older vampires or non-acting opponents, but it does not replace Obedience’s ability to stop an action before combat. There is no strictly better card for Obedience’s role: **play it if your vampires will usually be older than the vampires they face**; otherwise, its restriction makes more flexible combat defense preferable.
