About Mistrust

Mistrust, Master, designed by Rik Martin first released in November 2003 in the set Black Hand.

Mistrust is mainly useful in a metagame where opponents rely on scarce vampires—especially a master-heavy control, wall, or toolbox deck that wants a low-cost answer to a key vampire in torpor or a ready vampire that is about to become influential; however, it provides no value against ordinary vampires and consumes a master phase, making it a very narrow silver bullet. For general vampire removal, Banishment is usually better because it can affect any ready opposing vampire, while Pentex Subversion is generally better at neutralizing a dangerous vampire for longer, and cards such as Entrancement or Graverobbing may be preferable when you want to gain rather than merely disrupt a vampire. Mistrust is therefore usually not worth a slot in a normal constructed deck, but it can see play as a metagame call in a scarce-vampire-heavy environment or in a deck specifically built to exploit vampires being moved back to the uncontrolled region.
