About Fame
Fame, Master, designed by Kaja Foglio, Brian LeBlanc first released in August 1994 in the set Jyhad and was printed exactly in 16 different ways.
Fame is best in **rush/combat decks**—especially those that can reliably send opposing vampires to torpor—because it deals 3 pool damage when the vampire first goes to torpor, then keeps draining pool while they remain there; it is usually placed on a dangerous opposing vampire. There is no universally better substitute: **Dragonbound** can be stronger in a deck that regularly keeps several vampires in torpor, since its damage can scale with the number there, but Fame is cheaper to deploy and punishes one key target hard. Fame should see play in torpor-focused combat decks; in decks that rarely win combat or cannot keep vampires in torpor, its payoff is too unreliable.

Paying a pool during the unlock phase can be ordered with other unlock effects by the acting Methuselah, but must be handled before another Methuselah has the opportunity to use an unlock effect. [LSJ 20010121]
