About Contract
Contract, Master, designed by Greg Simanson first released in May 1996 in the set Ancient Hearts and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Contract fits an Assamite combat deck that wants one chosen vampire to repeatedly hunt a specific ready minion, such as a key blocker or bleeder. Its zero cost and +1 stealth make that focused plan attractive, but it uses a master slot and loses value once the target is no longer ready. `Haven Uncovered` is usually the better choice if you want multiple minions to be able to attack the same target; `Bum’s Rush` is better when you need a flexible, one-off attack without spending a master slot. I’d play Contract only if the deck has a strong dedicated fighter and benefits from repeated attacks on one target, not as a default combat card.
