About Ancient Influence
Ancient Influence, Political action, designed by Pete Venters first released in August 1994 in the set Jyhad and was printed exactly in 8 different ways.
Ancient Influence fits a political deck built around ready vampires with capacity 9–11, especially when opponents rely on smaller vampires: your large vampire can give you a substantial net pool gain while theirs may gain little or even lose pool. It is less attractive if opponents also have large ready vampires, since the referendum can help them just as much. For most vote decks, Parity Shift is a stronger way to swing pool when its conditions are met, while Kine Resources Contested is more reliable for pressuring opponents. Ancient Influence is worth considering as a one-of in a high-capacity vote deck, but I would not treat it as a staple.
