About Abbot
Abbot, Action, designed by John Bridges first released in September 2006 in the set Third Edition and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
Abbot fits a Sabbat deck that wants to defend against bleeds or other actions directed at you, especially one with vampires that can block effectively once they have intercept. Its main attraction is that the +1 intercept is permanent and costs no blood or pool, while the action unlocks the vampire, so playing it need not leave them unavailable to defend. It is less useful in an aggressive deck that rarely plans to block, or one that already has ample intercept. There is no strictly better replacement: **Eyes of Argus** can provide more immediate defense in an Auspex deck, but it is a reaction rather than a permanent bonus. Abbot is worth playing in a defensive Sabbat deck, usually in a few copies rather than as a card every vampire needs.
