The Portrait, Action, صمم بواسطة Pete Venters صدر لأول مرة في مايو 1996 في التحرير Ancient Hearts وطبع بالضبط في 2 أشكال مختلفة.

The Portrait would mainly benefit a Toreador toolbox or mid-capacity bleed deck that can exploit its reveal effect and occasionally gain blood or turn the action into an untap-and-bleed sequence, but it is far too matchup- and crypt-dependent for most competitive decks: against a low-capacity crypt it is merely an expensive blood-gain action, against a Nosferatu or very large vampire it is actively harmful, and the useful 7–10-capacity result is not reliable enough to justify the card slot. In a Toreador deck, broadly useful options such as `Enchant Kindred` or `Legal Manipulations` provide more predictable bleed pressure, while `The Minion Tap` is substantially better if the goal is simply to gain blood; decks with access to `Dominate` should prefer `Govern the Unaligned` for reliable forward pressure and pool management. The Portrait is flavorful and potentially explosive, but unless your casual or themed deck specifically supports crypt scouting and wants unusual effects, it should
