it could benefit a deck built around one irreplaceable vampire, especially a combat, toolbox, or wall deck facing Malkavian, Malkavian antitribu, Dementation, or Serpentis strategies, because it prevents that vampire from being affected by cards requiring those clans or disciplines; however, the restriction also prevents you from putting any such cards on the bearer, making the Ring a liability in many decks. In normal competitive play it is generally worse than broader protection or utility equipment such as **Leather Jacket** for combat defense, **Sport Bike** for mobility and intercept, or **Heidelberg Castle, Germany** for equipment management, while dedicated decks should usually spend their equipment slot on cards that advance their main plan. Martinelli’s Ring should therefore see play only as a deliberate local metagame choice when those specific threats are common; otherwise, it is too conditional and should be omitted.
