Dog Pack

حول Dog Pack

Dog Pack, Retainer, صمم بواسطة Randy Gallegos صدر لأول مرة في مايو 1996 في التحرير Ancient Hearts وطبع بالضبط في 3 أشكال مختلفة.

Dog Pack best fits a non-combat Gangrel wall, toolbox, or stealth-bleed deck that wants to discourage rushes and survive blocked or directed attacks, since it makes combat largely irrelevant against the employer; it is much less attractive in a Gangrel combat or rush deck, where you want to exploit combat rather than end it. However, paying two blood and spending an action for a one-life retainer is a substantial investment, and the card does nothing when you are not being attacked or blocked. In a wall or toolbox, Raven Spy is usually better because its intercept is useful constantly, while a Gangrel with Protean will generally prefer Earth Meld as a cheaper, more flexible combat-ending option; combat-oriented Gangrel may instead use combat cards such as Carrion Crows or Aid from Bats. Dog Pack can be a reasonable metagame choice against heavy rush or combat environments, but it is generally too narrow and expensive for competitive play and should not see widespread inclusion.
