Direct Intervention is most valuable in control, toolbox, intercept, and wall decks that need to stop a pivotal minion card such as a bleed modifier, bounce reaction, combat card, equipment, or key action, and it is particularly strong when canceling a decisive strike or preventing an important action from resolving; it can also protect your strategy by canceling an opponent’s Deflection or other reaction. There is no universally better replacement because DI is unusually broad, but specialized answers are more efficient when your deck has a narrow need: Delaying Tactics is better for stopping political actions, while Sudden Reversal or Wash are better for canceling master cards, and dedicated intercept, bounce, or combat cards are generally better if you do not need cancellation. DI should see play when your deck can afford the one-pool cost and has meaningful targets in the expected metagame, usually as a one- or two-copy safety card rather than an automatic inclusion; it is stronges
