Aye is best in a Laibon deck built around a vampire with enough capacity to accumulate Orun and several copies of Aye—especially a defensive or toolbox deck that expects Frenzy and wants its vampire to block while locked; its benefits are narrow, though, and the three-Aye-plus-blood cost makes the pseudo-unlock ability slow to assemble, while burning an opposing minion, equipment, or location also costs you an Aye. There is no direct substitute that combines Frenzy cancellation with this unusual blocking option, but for general defense, **Wake with Evening’s Freshness** (or **Forced Awakening**) is usually more useful and efficient because it lets a vampire attempt to block while tapped without needing Aye counters; use **Aye** only if your deck already supports Orun/Aye and specifically values its Frenzy protection or Laibon synergy, rather than as a routine inclusion.
