Vampiric Speed fits a Celerity deck that wants to survive a dangerous strike while keeping the option to continue combat—especially if it can land a weapon strike or use additional strikes in the next round. It is less useful in a deck whose main goal is simply to escape: **Majesty** (Presence) and **Earth Meld** (Protean) end combat and can untap the vampire at superior, making them stronger defensive choices for decks with those disciplines. **Pursuit** is generally more useful in an aggressive Celerity deck that needs a maneuver and a press rather than a dodge. Vampiric Speed is playable as a niche defensive card, but I would not make it a staple unless your deck specifically benefits from dodging *and* choosing whether combat continues.
