Domain best suits a dedicated wall or intercept-control deck, especially one built around a high-capacity, blood-rich defensive vampire who must repeatedly block bleeds, political actions, or multi-acting turns; the permanent +1 intercept is valuable, while the unlock effect gives that vampire an extra block at the cost of blood. It is less attractive in swarm, rush, or proactive bleed decks, and it competes with a master phase that may be needed for Villein, Dreams of the Sphinx, or other setup cards. For merely unlocking to block, Wake with Evening’s Freshness and On the Qui Vive are generally better because they do not cost blood, while Forced Awakening is a cheaper-in-card-slot alternative when its drawback is acceptable; Raven Spy is also a simpler option for permanent +1 intercept in decks that can use retainers.
