Target Vitals is best in dedicated combat decks—especially Potence-based hand-strike decks, gun decks, and other builds that already inflict reliable damage and want to end combat quickly rather than maneuver or press; the +2 damage is excellent, while preventing the opposing minion from pressing can stop a counterattack or escape through a second round. It is less attractive in decks with low damage, strike-dependent combat, or strategies that rely heavily on pressing, since it does nothing if all damage is prevented or the strike is dodged, and the opponent can discard two combat cards to cancel it. There is no universally better replacement for its combination of zero cost, damage boost, and anti-press effect, although Disarm is generally stronger as a Potence finisher when available because it can remove the opposing vampire from combat, while cards such as Immortal Grapple or combat-specific damage cards may be better for particular strategies. Target Vitals should see play in mos
