Macoute fits a Group 4 Samedi deck that needs a six-capacity vampire for its discipline spread, especially a Thanatosis-focused combat or toolbox deck. Its only card-text ability is being Independent, so it offers no special reason to build around it; a Samedi with the disciplines your deck needs plus a useful special ability would be a better choice. I would treat Macoute as a supporting crypt slot, not an automatic inclusion: play it if its disciplines and capacity make your crypt more consistent, but leave it out if another vampire fills that role better.
