Horrid Form is best in a combat deck that wants to improve a vampire’s damage output while managing opposing strikes, especially one built around Vicissitude vampires using close-range or hand-strike combat: its basic `[vic]` effect adds strength for the combat, while `[VIC]` also prevents 1 damage each round, making it a useful, low-cost combat trick. Whether it should see play depends on the deck: in a focused Vicissitude combat package, the superior effect can be worthwhile, but it competes with more flexible cards such as **Torn Signpost**, which also boosts strength and can help deliver damage at close range, and **Soak** cards such as **Skin of Rock** if damage prevention is the priority. I’d include Horrid Form when you want both effects on one card and have reliable superior Vicissitude; otherwise, use the more specialized alternatives, and don’t add it to a deck that isn’t already built to make combat worthwhile.
