Bartholomew fits a slower Kiasyd deck that can defend its vampires and leave him unlocked through the table’s turns, turning his ability into a steady source of pool. He is less appealing in a typical Kiasyd stealth-bleed deck: those decks want their vampires taking actions, and his 8-pool cost is substantial if his ability rarely triggers. For pool gain, **Villein** is generally a stronger and more reliable card, though it complements Bartholomew rather than replacing him as a vampire. He can see play as a supporting crypt choice in a defensive build, but I would not make him the centerpiece of a competitive deck.
